Ok so I'm a British 19-year-old studying in my first year at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver and its bloody fantastic! Been there three weeks after working at Starbucks for ten months to earn some money, then travelling Europe for a month, which was amazing!

I'm very optimistic as a general rule (although not one of those horrifyingly happy people all the time) and also very political :D I like many, many things, that I may or may not write about here... But if you cast your eyes down the page a little you can see all my glorious interests

I love beauty and aesthetics, and I try to see beauty in everything (or almost), so I prefer not to look at people and say "god, look at her terrible nose", but rather say "god, he has such nice eyes" or whatever.

I hate rudeness and unpleasantness. I think there is usually no reason to be rude to people. This is my ultra-pet hate. Sadly British people seem to make a habit out of being rude and miserable. >:-[ Canadians appear to be the most cheerful people I have yet come across :)

I love photography and theatre, both participating in and watching both and they have long been my pasions.

There are many more things I like in the world than I dislike, and I prefer to focus on these because this is my nature. However, I'm also British and therefore (in the words of Bill Bailey) I crave disappointment. So I am (at times) a secret pessimist! But shh! No-one needs to know that :)

I'm generally not the type of person to stress about exams/anything anymore, as I've completely switched over the last two years. I am now a much calmer person (although I have my moments :P). I love words and the world.

Words are one of my favourite things. It saddens me immensely that so many fantastic words are going out of common use. I accept that language is organic, I just wish it wouldn't evolve into such a hideous beast! I wish I could speak in Shakespearean English, but I don't to save my friends' sanity! :) I'd love to study something Shakespeare related at uni because I have always "got" his language. There's such passion and truth in his words, and that is something that will always get my attention and respect.

I have very strong opinions, but I also love to hear other people's. I will willingly listen to a completely contrasting argument to my own, as long as the person is willing to listen to mine too. I have a lot of respect for people who are comfortable enough with their opinions to have them challenged.

I'm a definite liberal minded individual, but I will generally put up with a lot. Except disrespect (not in a chavvy way :P). If people show me respect there is a 99% chance they will receive mine, but I have no time for people who think they are better than others for whatever reason. This is not to say I'm without prejudice (I know I'm not perfect...but I try :) )
